The small but loud (for its size) English-reading group I belong to has been animated by a Guardian article on litfests in India, built around a clickbait headline about reading and with a few insights into reading habits and the publishing industry.
Adding to the above, in great detail, are Anurag Minus Verma's observations on our reading habits with the title: Why Don’t Indians Read for Pleasure?

Nothing to beat your photo-essays. Love them for their simplicity and 'no-caption-needed'. It is like grandma's first line... ek tha raja... and one knows something interesting is coming. Kudos
