So well-observed. The Kafka-esque modern world that has become so familiar and standardised that most of us barely recognise what you have focused your attention upon – the mind-numbing awfulness of having no choices but to Stand In Queue.

Yes! Thank you. Queues - That is the one thing all governments in India have always delivered.

Very keen observation. Paper walls are a way for bureaucrats to impose authority on the powerless. Yet in some instances standing in queues is good civic behavior, as opposed to mobbing ticket counters.

Yes. You are right. Like the one for the bus. Actually, Mumbaikars are natural born queue makers. That can be another photo essay

This one was hard to read :-( - The modern border is made of paper, and it resembles a queue... I love that! Also true story... I tried to mail a birthday card last year to my niece in Australia, and they asked me for my Aadhaar card copy at the Speed Post place—all systems are built from a place of deep mistrust, it's horrible.

Thank you. This providing identity and Aadhar for ordinary mails is very funny and even worse if any one sends you a parcel. Even the 70s and 80s were not so bad behind the Khaadi curtain.

Uff! Your pictures and words. I just got a Schengen visa and saw this VFS. I have been thinking so much about borders as well. Maybe will write about it!

What a heartbreaking depiction this photo series is, of the everyday wretched reality.
